Have you explored numerology yet? Today I'm sharing two concepts from numerology called the personal year cycle or personal year number, and your life path number. These numbers are easy to calculate from your birthday, and can give you clues on your life purpose and new year theme.

Personal Year Number

How to calculate your Personal Year Number

1) Add up the digits of your birthday and the current year.

If your birthday is May 21 and the current year is 2020, the corresponding digits would be: 5, 2, 1, 2, 0, 2, 0

The total of those digits would be 12: 5 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 = 12

2) Add up the digits again until you get a single digit number.

12 consists of two digits (1 and 2), so the final total would be 3: 1 + 2 = 3

You would be in Year 3 of your Personal Year cycle!

Year 1

• Theme: New beginnings & planting seeds for the future
• This is a year for new beginnings, independence, initiation, and achievement

Year 2

• Theme: Patience & love
• This year is about slowing down and developing patience. Your priority is your emotions and relationships.

Year 3

• Theme: Creativity & self improvement
• This year is all about fun and and growth. You'll find creativity and communication are easier.

Year 4

• Theme: Hard work & long term goals
• This is a more serious year, about working hard and sharpening your skillset. After a light and creative Year 3, you're encouraged to pick up your pace and become methodical about your goals.

Year 5

• This is a time for fun and exciting changes! There will be a lot of ups and downs, but you should embrace the uncertainty. It's a year for flexibility, adaptability, and focus.

Year 6

• Theme: Responsibility & relationship
• This year is devoted to home, family, and responsibility. It's a time to regroup, nurture, and be nurtured. You might make a major decision regarding your relationships.

Year 7

• Theme: Inner work & spiritual development
• This is a year for deep inner work, contemplation, and gathering knowledge. You'll feel your faith and trust being tested. You'll also experience a sense of deeper knowing and higher purpose, so feel free to explore the depths of your soul's calling.

Year 8

• Theme: Empowerment & finances
• This is a time to focus on money, finances, and personal power. You'll develop the skills to become a confident “CEO” of your life. It's a start to a period of intensity, focusing on your financial health and personal sense of empowerment.

Year 9

• Theme: Letting go & completions
• This is a time to let go and release what doesn't serve you. At the end of your nine-year cycle, you're experiencing a sense of completion.

Life Path Number

How to calculate your Life Path Number

1) Add up the digits of your birthday and your birth year

If your birthday is May 21, 2000, the corresponding digits would be: 5, 2, 1, 2, 0, 0, 0

The total of those digits would be 10: 5 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 10

2) Add up the digits again until you get a single digit number.

10 consists of two digits (1 and 0), so the final total would be 1: 1 + 0 = 1
