Europe Travel Diary 01 | Are we there yet?
Planning a spontaneous trip to Europe in 2.5 weeks, accidentally staying in Iceland for a night & visiting the Blue Lagoon! Consider this the prequel to my Europe trip 🙂
I wanted to share this part of the journey with you because it shows the PROCESS behind the scenes. This trip was pretty spontaneous and planned last minute, but it all worked out in the end… although not without a few bumps along the ride. I hope this vlog shows you that travel isn't always as glamorous as it seems on Instagram feeds, and that it's completely do-able to travel on a budget, on a time crunch, w/ minimal baggage.

P.S. For those who are curious, the flight was delayed 15+ hours because there was a strike going on with air traffic controllers in Iceland. WOW Air is an Icelandic budget airline. AND on top of that, it was only their 2nd week flying out of LAX — hence their inexperience and inefficient customer service. It was quite frustrating BUT it was a blessing in disguise because we got to visit the gorgeous Blue Lagoon!
But seriously, although WOW Air may have the lowest flight prices to Europe, consider that they charge fees for baggage, seating (EVERY seat had an additional cost), food on the plane, and don't provide blankets, pillows, nor in-flight entertainment for an international flight… If you can deal with that, then it's great ^_^ But personally I will be flying normal airlines from now on for future international trips… haha.
